My Favourite Colour Combinations For Men

Colour Combinations

Great style starts with colour.

You don't need a wardrobe full of expensive clothes to dress well.

Most stylish outfits are built around colours that naturally complement each other.

Once you understand which colours work together, getting dressed becomes much easier and almost everything in your wardrobe starts to mix and match effortlessly.

These are four colour combinations I come back to time and time again.

1. Pink, navy and tan.

This is probably my favourite combination of all.

A pale pink Oxford shirt paired with navy chinos immediately feels fresh, confident and surprisingly masculine. Finish the outfit with tan loafers, a matching leather belt and a brown leather watch strap and everything ties together beautifully.

Despite what some people think, pink works incredibly well on men because it softens the outfit without making it look overly formal.

2. Light blue, white and tan.

Few combinations feel as clean and timeless as light blue and white.

A light blue Oxford shirt with white chinos or white trainers creates a crisp, effortless look that's perfect throughout spring and summer.

Adding tan leather accessories brings warmth to the outfit and prevents it feeling too clinical.

3. Olive, stone and brown.

Olive green is one of the most underrated colours in menswear.

It works brilliantly with stone chinos, beige shorts and brown leather footwear.

The colours all come from nature, which is why they naturally complement each other without looking forced.

This combination works particularly well during autumn but looks equally good throughout the rest of the year.

4. Navy, white and dark denim.

If you're ever unsure what to wear, start here.

Navy is arguably the most versatile colour in any man's wardrobe.

Pair a navy jumper, polo or overshirt with a white Oxford shirt underneath and dark denim jeans for a combination that works almost anywhere.

It's simple, understated and never goes out of fashion.

Keep accessories consistent.

One of the easiest ways to make an outfit feel more expensive is by matching your leather accessories.

If you're wearing tan shoes, wear a tan belt. If possible, choose a watch with a tan leather strap too.

Those small details create consistency throughout the outfit and show attention to detail without drawing attention to themselves.

Keep it simple.

Some men worry too much about following trends.

In reality, most well-dressed men wear simple colours exceptionally well.

Choose timeless combinations, buy quality basics that fit properly and build your wardrobe around colours that work together.

You'll spend less time deciding what to wear and look better every day because of it.
